They are trying to help you navigate the city and then you begin to experience communication issues. Suddenly, their instructions seem to be more confusing than helpful.
Before long, you give up and try to take public transportation. You look for bus stops, but you can’t seem to find the right one. You start to disagree on where to go.
Do either of these situations sound familiar?
Navigating around a new city can be confusing and frustrating. As an Omaha moving company, we have seen many people struggle with navigating a new city. No matter where they are moving to, there is a lot to learn. We want to help you have the best and smoothest of moves. You have enough on your plate, so we try to do whatever we can to help our customers throughout the entire process. Here are some tips to help you become a pro at navigating the buses of Omaha:
- Use a Map- This
might sound like an obvious solution but many people don’t take advantage of
this valuable resource. Before you are
able to memorize the routes and stops, your map will be your best friend.
- Catch a Bus- When
you want to catch a bus, be sure to be there a few minutes ahead of time. You will want to be standing at the bus stop
so that the driver knows to stop.
- Fare- The fare
boxes accept cash and Metro pre-paid cards.
Bills are accepted up to $20. If
you need to transfer buses, be sure to notify the driver and pay for the
transfer at the same time as your fare.
- Exiting the Bus-
When it is time to exit the bus, you will want to pull on the cord on the side
of the bus or press the yellow tape.
This will notify the driver to stop at the next bus stop. Be sure to exit from the back doors.
Before too long getting around Omaha will be second nature. Until then use these tips to help you navigate around.
