Communities

We are in the business of movement and change. From the movement of goods from one place to another to the change in location, landscape, and life moments, we are charged with safely getting items to their destination. For us, the job does not stop there. We are passionate about investing and serving communities to create a long-lasting impact.

Supporting a culture of movement, change, and sustainability

Every day our team is faced with moving waste. From unopened, non-perishable food to gently used furniture, many perfectly good items are left behind to hit the trash can.

Our team partnered with two amazing organizations to provide sustainable options for clients while creating a long-term impact on the communities we serve every day.

Fighting hunger, one move at a time

Move for Hunger

It is hard to believe that, in a country where 10 million people face hunger every day, so much food could go uneaten. On average, 40% of the food grown, processed, and transported in the U.S. will go to waste.

Our team sees that daily. As we help people pack and move their belongings, boxes of unopened perishable food are left behind or thrown out. We are proud to partner with Move for Hunger to help fight hunger one move at a time.

Move for Hunger is a national non-profit organization that has created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger.

The program allows people to donate their unopened, non-perishable food when they move. Our team provides specially labeled boxes with Move for Hunger stickers to collect and donate non-perishable food to local food banks from clients who are moving. Their suggested food item list includes peanut butter, jelly, cereal, canned goods, apple sauce, crackers, pasta, sauce, and condiments.

Move for Hunger has collected and delivered 20 million pounds of food to food banks across the U.S. and Canada since 2009.

Supporting our veterans

Second Salute

Many Americans put their lives on the line to protect our country and to maintain our freedom. In the process, many are wounded and require additional support when they return to civilian life.

Second Salute Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on providing support to Disabled American Veterans through office furniture decommissioning while providing corporations with sustainable options and tax credits.

Second Salute coordinates with local movers to develop a comprehensive proposal for furniture decommissioning and donation. After they complete a site survey of an office, they coordinate the removal of the decommissioned furniture. Office furnishings are sorted by their condition and either donated to veteran organizations to use or are liquidated to provide monetary support to Disabled American Veterans.
